My husband has been working very hard doing physical labor laying tile in a gym. He comes home physically exhausted. And I have had no alone-time since they started the job a couple weeks ago. I am exhausted too. And he is very nice and understanding. But I don’t think he understands. (Just like I am understanding, but I don’t understand.) I mean, I’m not schlepping around bags of grout or heavy tiles or whatever. So why am I so tired? So today I thought about it. And I decided to write this. This is a day of work if my husband worked with our children: Continue reading If my husband worked with our kids…
With it being Winter and all… it’s time to dream big garden dreams!
This year, we are pairing with my friend to buy seeds. Because let’s face it, nobody needs 100 zucchini plants. So today is perusing the interwebz looking for the perfect combination of seeds. So far we have enough to plant a couple small farms, because we both have the same seed-buying affliction: our eyes are bigger than our gardens. Continue reading Garden Dreaming
My phone died. Like, for real. Not coming back. It actually had a near-death experience a couple weeks ago. We were in Texas for my parents’ Christmas and it just turned off and wouldn’t turn back on. At first, I was horrified. What if people are calling me? What super important texts am I missing? Then, I started enjoying being phone-free. I was more present. I was more relaxed. After a few days I didn’t have the urge to “check-in” with my phone.
This is great! I thought. When I get a new phone, I will continue on this way. I will be more hands-free.
Then my phone made a miraculous recovery. And I found out how bad my addiction was. Continue reading My Phone Addiction
This morning the kids and I went outside to play… and ended up hunting an elephant!
It was windy, and the dog pen gate was swinging, making noises, and C proclaimed: “I hear an elephant! We have to go find it!”
So off we went. C on his glide bike and J in his stroller. We went all the way down the road. We saw and heard roosters, sheep, horses, and dogs, but we never did find the elephant. Upon returning home, C heard the elephant again. So if it isn’t raining too hard tomorrow, we’ll be out hunting elephants.
I haven’t updated this website in months. Months! Life didn’t stop… no no. But instead of going back in time and trying to fill in the missing months (sounds stressful), I’m just going to pick back up in the here and now.
This past week has possibly been “The Best Week Ever” for C. We checked out the tractor auction down the road:
I just realized that I don’t really have any new pictures to post. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t been living! I don’t remember all the things we did since I last wrote, but I do remember this week. So we can start with that.
J had a Dr’s appointment. That’s always an adventure. I find anytime I have to go somewhere with both kids, it’s an adventure. Continue reading Weekly Happenings
It actually is a rainy morning. Freezing rain. This morning was great! My husband let me sleep in. Well, as much as you can with a 3 month old who eats a lot. Plus, he got me donuts! And then he got me coffee because we were out. And because I told him that I wouldn’t be able to make it through the day without coffee. Really I wouldn’t. Then he left for work.
C is taking a very early nap. Not sure what that’s about. But… big news on the potty training front… it’s working! He actually went to the bathroom by himself this morning! So as you can see, today is a win.
I am definitely in relaxed-mode today. Continue reading Lazy Sunday
The kids are both taking a nap. At the same time! So I thought I’d write a nice, long, rambly post.
The snow has almost melted. There are only a few patches in the fields that get sun. Although the North-facing fields and the woods are still covered. I hope it snows again. The ground is so… brown. If it’s going to be cold, it might as well be pretty. Besides, I’m not ready for Spring yet. I have too much planning to do! Continue reading A Wintery Check In
