The Thaw

So after the snow melted, I immediately felt like I had wasted the snow!  I wasn’t ready for the snow to be gone.  I wasn’t ready for the brown…

So I wished for more snow.  Aaaannd…

Oh boy did we get snow!  There was so much snow, we couldn’t get out of the driveway.  And my husband has a plow!  Eventually he escaped and went to plow:

snow was up to the bottom of the truck

snow was up to the bottom of the truck! (and you can see Bullet’s ears in the picture.)

So we spent the next two days enjoying the snowy wintery beautifulness!  I chopped wood for fires and we stayed toasty warm inside while the snow fell outside.  (A note on chopping wood: it’s no joke! I could barely chop it.) It was a perfect end to the winter.

And the end it was.  Because now it’s in the 70s!!  No more snow.  Now it’s all about sprouting bulbs and being outside.  So that’s what we’ve been doing.  I took C to the park while the last of the snow was melting.  He was wet, but he had fun.

We started the week with a trip to our newest park.  We took Bullet and walked around the large loop.

As you can see, it’s a lot warmer than C’s previous trips:

Yesterday we went to Taylorsville Lake to go shed hunting.  Looking in the woods was difficult with two young’uns.  C was carried a lot and I carried J in his carrier.  Eventually our trek turned into a walk in the field.  We didn’t find any antlers, but we did find a turtle shell and a pond FULL of very loud frogs.  C was very excited, because he has been hopping around saying “ribbit” for days.

Today we enjoyed a lot of outsidey goodness too.  We visited the kid gym and then had lunch with Dada.  C was very tired, until he saw his tricycle at home.  Then it was all “Tricycle! Barn!”  He rode his tricycle in the barn while Dada worked and took rides on the 4-wheeler.  Then we flew the trick kite.  Although its only trick seemed to be divebombing into the ground.  It was still very fun.

Let's go fly a kite!

Let’s go fly a kite!

Looking forward to more great weather. Bring on Spring!
